Professor Galit Weinstein, PhD
Dr. Galit Weinstein is an epidemiologist, and a Professor at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Social Welfare & Health Sciences, university of Haifa, Israel. She earned her Bachelor degree in life sciences, and her Master and Ph.D in epidemiology and preventive medicine at the Tel-Aviv University. She completed a Three-year post-doctoral training at the Boston University, and she is part of the Framingham Heart Study neuroepidemiology research group. Professor Weinstein’s research focuses on genetic, clinical and life-style risk factors for brain aging, dementia and specifically Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia. She additionally explores blood-based biomarkers of neurodegeneration, including Neurotrophic factors and endocannabinoids.

- The link between metabolic conditions and risk of brain aging and Alzheimer’s disease
- Life-style, including exercise and nutrition, and their association with Alzheimer’s disease risk
- Blood biomarkers as predictors of Alzheimer’s disease development
- Genetic determinants of brain aging
