Prof. Aviad Tur-Sinai, PhD
Prof. Aviad Tur-Sinai is a Full Professor at the School of Public Health at the University of Haifa and at the Department of Health Management Systems at the Max Stern Yezreel Valley College. He deals with interdisciplinary “Big Data” questions of socioeconomic policy design and analysis of policy implications among older adults, with emphasis on assuring social security for the purpose of attenuating poverty and inequality among older adults, and on policy issues related to funding of healthcare and welfare services and its effect on inequality among disempowered population groups.
He completed doctoral studies at the Eitan Berglas School of Economics at Tel Aviv University. Afterwards, he completed two rounds of post-doctoral studies. The first took place at the Israel Gerontological Data Center, an auspice of the Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Welfare at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. After completing this post-doctoral position, he had a second post-doc specialization at the University of Rochester Medical Center (School of Nursing) in New York, USA.
He currently serves as a Principal Investigator at the Minerva Center on Intersectionality in Aging (MCIA), University of Haifa, and as an Affiliated Fellow at the Pension, Insurance and Financial Literacy Research Center, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel.
