Dr. Dana Peer, PhD

Dr. Dana Peer is a Gerontologist and an Occupational Therapist, specializing in Dementia Care. She has been working with the elderly, and people living with dementia in particular, for over twenty years and focuses on non-pharmaceutical interventions. Her goal is to support and assist family and professional caregivers for people with dementia in optimizing care in the community or in facilities.

Dr. Peer completed her graduate studies at the University of Haifa, under the supervision of Professor Ariela Lowenstein. Her thesis topic was “Elder women between marriage and widowhood: An abeyance of marriage” and studied the lived experience of women in long term marriages whose husbands had moved to a nursing home, while they continued living at home.
