Dr. Yifat Rom

Dr. Yifat Rom is an accomplished environmental gerontologist, environmental psychologist, certified architect, town planner, and gerontologist. She lectures at the Department of Gerontology at Yezreel Academic. Her multidisciplinary skills extend to teaching final projects in the Program for ME in Systems Engineering at the Technion Institute in Haifa, Israel, where she has been a part of the faculty for 18 years. She owns the consultancy firm G-E-O (Gerontology Environment And Organization) and consults for various government offices, including the Ministries of Health, Social Equality, Construction, and Housing. As a key consultant for MUNI100, a government initiative inspired by the WHO’s ‘Age-Friendly Cities’ model, she focuses on preparing local authorities for aging populations, particularly in the Arab sector. Dr. rom has published several papers attended international conferences as an architectural design and consulting expert for long-term care facilities and age-friendly cities.
