Dr. Mika Moran, PhD, MPH, BSc

Dr Mika Moran is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Public Health. She specializes in interdisciplinary research on environmental and social determinants of health with a special focus on age friendly environments. Dr Moran has published more than 20 articles in international public health and urban studies journals and presented her work at over 50 national and international conferences.

Research Interests:

  • Understanding associations between the built environment, health behaviors and related health outcomes
  • Exploring the potential of urban nature to promote public health and reduce health inequalities
  • Studying age-friendly environments with an emphasis on environmental and social determinants of active and health aging
